Forrester Identifies M-Files as Leader in ECM

Analyst firm, Forrester Research, regularly undertakes ‘Wave Reports’ which are detailed evaluations of top vendors across various areas that contain industry trends and advancements.

In the firm’s latest report, The Forrester Wave™: ECM Transactional Content Services, Q3 2015, Forrester has identified the 10 most significant vendors in the area of transactional content management.

Along with Alfresco Software, Lexmark International and Microsoft, M-Files has been been identified as a ‘Leader’. The Key criteria identified for leaders are content analytics, strength of architecture, scale, and experience in transactional use cases.

The report additionally identifies M-Files as the following:

M-Files offers a unique metadata-driven approach to categorising documents, a welcome move away from the folder-based interface used by most ECM vendors

M-Files has particular traction with high quality and compliance requirements
M-Files has solid document management, workflow, reporting, and team site support
Its [M-Files] cloud strategy supports the needs of enterprises seeking flexible hybrid options, enabling replication of documents from on-premises to cloud to meet remote access use cases.
