ITEC Employee Climbs Machu Picchu for St Peter’s Hospice

23rd October 2016

On Friday 14th October Bristol-based Managed Print & IT Services provider ITEC bid farewell to its Senior Engineer & Learning Specialist Steve Webb as he departed for a 10 day Machu Picchu charity trek in Peru. Over the last 6 months, ITEC employees have held various fundraising events to help raise money for Steve’s trek in aid of St Peter’s Hospice.

The ITEC team organised a coffee morning, golf evening, online auction, and set-up an employee tuck shop with all proceeds going to St Peter’s Hospice – with £2,500 in total raised. Steve’s fundraising challenge saw him trek the Sacred Urubamba River Valley in the Andes and up through the Lares Valley, then onto the highest point of the trip – a climb to 4,600 metres.

St Peter’s Hospice could not survive without the support they receive from fundraising. Each contribution however big or small makes a big difference to the lives of the many people they care for every year.

ITEC has a proud history of supporting St Peter’s Hospice as well as other local charities and hospices. Back in 2013, ITEC achieved its biggest ever fundraising efforts with an amazing £170,000 raised in just 6 weeks for charity. ITEC’s ethos ‘to give as much back to the community in which we work and live’ is ITEC’s continuous commitment to being a good neighbour and supporting the communities of its customers, suppliers and employees.
